At the start of the season, Nied 3 narrowly missed a sensational win against the nominally strongest team of the league. Unfortunately, half a point was missing at the close but the team could still celebrate coming away with a draw.
Boards 1 und 3: Christos und Volker won by default.
Board 5: Till won a piece early in the game from an inferior position thanks to an oversight by his opponent. He went on to convert his advantage and his opponent resigned when the loss of his queen was unavoidable
Board 7: Kurt was able to force an exchange of queens and accepted a draw offer by his nominally stronger opponent in an equal position.
Board 8: Against a nominally much stronger opponent, Lukas was not able to put up further resistance after the loss of a piece.
Board 6: After an unusual opening, Bjarne was able to win a pawn in the middlegame. However, as the pawn structure on his queenside became locked, he had to content himself with a draw.
Board 2: Fritz played a very long game of over 70 moves. After his opponent had missed a win, Fritz fought on and achieved a material advantage, with which he had to part again due to strong mating threats by his opponent. After the loss of two connected passed pawns in the endgame, his opponent could finally reach a won endgame of knight and pawn versus the blank king.
